Getting rid of toenail fungus via traditional efforts often requires considerable effort. That is why we are proud to provide Lunula laser treatment for fungal toenails – a more convenient option than depending solely on former methods of fungal removal.

What Makes Lunula Better for Fungal Toenails?

To clear out any fungal toenail condition, you must eliminate the fungus itself. That fungus, however, is often located deep within the nail tissue. The longer it has resided there, the firmer and more widespread a hold it tends to have.

Before laser treatment, there have been two major ways of addressing toenail fungus:

  • Topical creams to attack the fungus directly. But the fungus is often well protected by nail tissue, so you have to file the nails down regularly in order for the cream to have a chance to reach the fungus itself.
  • Oral antifungal medications to attack the fungus “from the inside out.” These pills are more convenient in that the nails don’t need to be filed down for it to be effective. However, these antifungal medications may also have side effects that do not make them eligible for all patients.

These tactics may still sometimes be used in certain cases, but Lunula provides a host of additional benefits, shooting it straight to the top of our list of recommended treatments.

Lunula Laser Treatment:

  • Is hassle-free
  • Can reach fungus through nail tissue without filing
  • Has no risk of side effects
  • Is painless

There is unfortunately no way to fully guarantee successful treatment for toenail fungus, but Lunula is effective in a vast majority of stubborn cases. That makes it more than comparable to other forms of treatment.

How Does Lunula Work?

Lunula uses a very low wavelength and frequency of laser energy to attack fungus within the toenail. This allows the laser to reach the problem at its source and make a difference without causing any pain or damage to the nails or healthy tissue. You won’t even see any smoke.

The full course of treatment consists of several sessions spaced out over a period of weeks or months, depending on the severity of the fungal infection. Each session lasts about 25 minutes on average, and requires no preparation or aftercare on your part. You can come in, have a session, and be fully free to move on with your day afterward.

Do Not Delay Starting Fungal Toenail Treatment!

There is sadly no treatment yet that will instantly restore the original look of your toenails. Even after a fungus has been completely eradicated, the damage to the toenail will remain until new nail grows out to replace it.

What this means is that the sooner you begin treatment, the sooner you will see results. Don’t wait until just a few weeks or even a few months before a big event that you want perfect nails for. Start now and give yourself the time necessary for results!

Schedule an appointment with us so we can fully evaluate your situation and recommend the best course of action. We may highly recommend Lunula, but in some severe cases might also recommend topical creams or oral medications, to attack the fungus from every angle possible.
